MotoGP – The special livery of Edwards' M1 at Laguna Seca
It wasn't an example of style, but the livery that Colin Edwards' Yamaha M1 unveiled on Sunday during the MotoGP race at Laguna Seca certainly aroused interest. Presented in the morning, the Texan's M1 proposed the Stars and Stripes flag to replace the Camel brands (remember that in the States there is a special law on the prohibition of sponsorship by tobacco multinationals) to pay homage to its countless supporters and the US branch of Yamaha, which heard and followed the event a lot (also in economic terms).
It's a shame that the results on the track, in addition to the aesthetic ones, were not the best, so much so that most people became nostalgic for the special livery that had seen Colin Edwards protagonist in the 2002 World Superbike Championship here at Laguna Seca... For those who remember the Honda VTR 1000 SP2 in the “USA” version, the comparison is decidedly merciless…
