MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo, “I'm quite satisfied, but Michelin brought tires that were too hard”
Best time for the Majorcan on Day 1 of the Japanese GP
Jorge Lorenzo MotoGP 2016 Day 1 Motegi Yamaha Movistar – Jorge Lorenzo set the best time on the first day of testing for the Japanese Grand Prix. The Majorcan Yamaha rider achieved it with a time of 1:45.151, ahead of our Andrea Dovizioso and his Suzuki compatriot Maverick Vinales.
“I'm quite satisfied with this first day of testing. Compared to the morning session we took a step forward, despite the low temperatures, which caused many crashes – said Jorge Lorenzo – Michelin brought tires that were a little too hard, but we have these and we have to adapt. On the single lap with the soft tire I set a great time, I'm happy.”
Lorenzo then spoke about the fracture of the right collarbone suffered by his compatriot Dani Pedrosa.
“It's bad news, I know what it's like to break a collarbone. It's a tough time, but Dani is a strong boy and he will recover as best he can."
