The leader of the MotoGP world championship standings Jorge Lorenzo, despite knowing he will arrive at the home of the "enemy" at Mugello, does not give up. The Majorcan of the Fiat Yamaha Team knows well that the Tuscan track is Valentino Rossi's fiefdom (even if last year in very variable weather circumstances Stoner won, breaking the Pesaro rider's dominance) but he also knows that this year he can aim for the top step of the podium. In fact, despite the injury he suffered in the pre-season, the former 250cc world champion achieved a second place and two victories in the first three races of the season. Here are his words, as reported by “Sport.es”

“I'm not obsessed with winning the title. If I can't win it this year it's because I'm young and I think we shouldn't be impatient. The truth is that my goal is to be champion and one day I will retire happy, but we have to go step by step. Winning it is everyone's dream. The truth is that I had some doubts after my pre-season injury but things couldn't have gone better. The start was perfect and I feel good physically and mentally. We still need to improve the start and even though I improved it at Le Mans I can't say I've solved the problem. I don't go to Mugello starting as a loser, I know that Rossi will have the support of the many fans but every time I have more fans on my side and I don't put limits on myself."
