MotoGP Jerez, Free Practice 4: Jorge Lorenzo is the fastest

The fourth free practice session of the MotoGP class in Jerez de la Frontera (not valid for the purposes of qualifying but very important from a race perspective), saw Jorge Lorenzo excel, the only rider who managed to go below the one-minute barrier and 39s.

The Majorcan from Yamaha achieved the best time at the start of the session with a time of 1:38.997, a time 298 thousandths better than that set by his compatriot Dani Pedrosa, riding the Honda RC213V. The Team Repsol rider is only 18 thousandths ahead of Cal Crutchlow, Team Yamaha Tech 3 rider who crashed towards the middle of the session. He then got back on the second bike and completed the session.

Marc Marquez also crashed (who finished fourth), who unlike the Briton managed to get back on the saddle and bring his Honda RC213V back to the pits. The winner from Austin lost the front of the bike in the fall, tried to "keep" it on him and almost succeeded, but in the end he slipped.

A bad fall instead for our Andrea Iannone, who suffered a laceration to his left knee. Now the Team Pramac rider will go to the Clinica Mobile to try to be fit for Q2.

Returning to the time list we find Valentino Rossi from Pesaro behind Marquez, riding the Yamaha. The nine-time world champion worked from a race perspective, closing the session at 1.075 and ahead of Iannone's Ducati, Bautista's Honda and the Ducatis of Dovizioso and Hayden. He closes the Top Ten with Aleix Espargarò, with the first of the CRTs.

Now on track for Q1 are the drivers who remained outside the Top Ten of the combined three free practice sessions, where the top two will enter Q2 where pole will be contested in the fifteen minute "time attack".
