John Hopkins returned to the world championship after years of absence and finished the Spanish Grand Prix in tenth position. The race held on wet asphalt saw excellent crashes, the good "Hopper" took advantage of this by gaining precious points on his return. The word is up to him.

“Well, I finished where I wanted; my goal was the Top Ten! It seemed like too much on Friday but we did it. We pushed from the beginning and I tried to carry out the work in the most professional way possible. My main goal at the start of the race was to make up some positions and move up in the group, because I knew that if I was there I would be able to follow some riders. I even made a few mistakes early on, including a big one that reminded me of one from three years ago! I managed to keep the bike and catch a Ducati and battle with some riders for eighth place. Then, suddenly, the tires gave up on me, but this was my first time in the wet for a while on a MotoGP and I had never used Bridgestone wet tyres, so we didn't have the electronics set up in the best and most At the beginning I wore out the tires too much. At the end I slowed down and saw a lot of riders crashing, so I knew I was close to the top-ten, but my main aim was to complete the race. It was an incredible weekend and I'm very grateful to Rizla Suzuki for giving me this great opportunity, it was fantastic and I really enjoyed it, just seeing everyone back in the GP paddock was amazing! Hopefully he can return in the future, but for now I have to focus on the BSB (British Superbike) championship and we'll see what happens. Once again I want to thank everyone for this opportunity and it was nice to see the Suzuki garage once again!”
