MotoGP Jerez: Jack Miller fined for pushing Bautista
Bautista commented: "A rider pushing another is never a good image for the sport"
MotoGP Jerez Miller Vs Bautista – Jack Miller was fined 1000 euros after he got into a "collision" with Alvaro Bautista during the Spanish Grand Prix in the MotoGP class.
The Australian rider, who fell together with the Spaniard, accused the latter of making him fall and immediately after the fall, he pushed the Team Aspar rider to the ground. Subsequently he went to the Iberian driver's pits to clarify the dynamics of the fall, but some time passed before calming the "hot spirits". Below is the official reason why Honda's #43 was fined.
“At 14pm during the Spanish Grand Prix, Jack Miller pushed the other driver involved in the accident. This goes against the regulation which in point 10 states: “Any corrupt or fraudulent act or any action prejudicial to the interests of the sports meeting carried out by a person or group of persons occurring during an event. It is therefore a breach of the FIM World Championship Grand Prix Regulations, which damages the interests of the sport and is considered a moderately serious offence.”
Bautista had thus commented on the incident: “I tried to overtake Miller on the inside, I lost the front and unfortunately I crashed, involving him in the crash. These are things that can happen. My pace was better and we were gaining positions. I realize that tempers were "heated" at that moment, but one driver pushing another is never a good image for the sport. I think the kick to my bike is even worse than the push, because it wasn't the bike's fault."
