Cal Crutchlow e Jack Miller, the two standard bearers of the Cecchinello team, begin the Jerez weekend with the 7th and 23rd time respectively. The Briton, who arrived in Spain debilitated by the flu, feared he wouldn't be able to race, but then took to the track regularly, lapping with not bad times, considering he's not at his best and it's the first time he's driven here with the Honda . The Australian rookie, on the other hand, is more behind even if he wants to confirm himself as first among the Open here too.

“It was a positive start – Cal Crutchlow said – even though I had the flu in recent days and so today I wasn't even sure if I could run. I didn't feel bad on the bike and my team did a great job. This is a new circuit for me with the Honda, I don't know yet which tire I will use in the race. Furthermore, we still have to work on the braking system which can allow us to improve our times"

“It wasn't bad today – added Jack Miller – it's nice to be back on European tracks which are smaller and narrower, even if we had problems with tire grip today. However, the best thing is that we are improving compared to the first laps and I hope that on Sunday I will be able to repeat the good race I ran in Argentina."
