MotoGP | Jerez, Race: Crutchlow, “Important points scored”
"Good sensations in the first part of the race" he added
Cal Crutchlow's weekend on the Andalusian track of Jerez ends in the worst possible way. After a good start and a first race that ended consistently with the top group, the Englishman from the LCR Honda team suffered a bad fall which forced him to retire. A misstep that certainly hurts after the good performances of Termas and Austin, especially because it arrived on a track that was significantly favorable to the Hondas. He is now testing at the next Le Mans event.
Here are the words of Cal Crutchlow: “Obviously I'm very disappointed with today's result. I felt confident in the race and felt I was managing the tires very well. I was close to Marc and we both had a good pace. On the sixth lap, however, I entered turn 11 at high speed - as I had done on the previous lap - and when I opened the throttle the front closed. It was a mistake, but we need to maintain the confidence we have gained so far for the Le Mans round, which I think will go better for us. Today I missed the opportunity to get on the podium and I'm unhappy for both myself and my team, but now we have to group together and discuss some details with Honda, in view of the next race."
