MotoGP – Jeremy Burgess: "Engine restriction discouraging"MotoGP – Jeremy Burgess: "Engine restriction discouraging"

Jeremy Burgess wanted to have his say on the new 2010 regulation which provides for the use of only six engines for the entire season. The engine engineers of the various manufacturers will therefore be "forced" to create engines that will last at least three races and perhaps (the conditional is a must) the performance could also be affected. Interviewed by MCN, the Australian "guru", crew chief who has followed Rossi since his move to the premier class as well as world champion with Wayne Gardner and Mick Doohan, Freddie Spencer's crew chief and Randy Mamola's mechanic, said the following.

“The only thing I find really difficult is planning the last race in Valencia, I've never had to think about the last race at the start of the season, it will be a difficult task. This means that you will try to run the engines a lot on the dyno. The challenge for the engineers is to make a powerful engine that can survive three races.”
