Second victory of the season for Casey Stoner, who today, as happened in Qatar, once he obtained first position after Rossi's mistake he never gave it up, gaining a fair margin of safety over his rivals, who were forced to give up by faced with his superiority. Great work also by the Bridgestones, which allowed the driver to set high times despite not pushing 100%, which was no longer necessary once he had exceeded the two and a half second lead over his pursuers. Now Casey is for the first time in his career actually leading the general classification of the top category, but his goal is to give his best and become stronger and stronger. And if it happens, then there will be trouble... for the opponents!

“Today we had a great race! Seriously, as strong as my Ducati and Bridgestones were, nothing could go wrong. I overtook Colin (Edwards) on the first lap because I wanted to make sure I didn't get stuck like I had in Jerez. Then Valentino went off track, practically giving me first position. From that moment I managed to lap with a good pace and gain a good lead also because the others behind were battling it out. I don't want to sound too confident but, at the beginning I pushed hard to try to get away and then, when the lead increased to 2.53 seconds, and I tried to slow down to avoid taking any risks, my times continued to drop! The Bridgestones were absolutely perfect, the whole package was perfect. I have to thank a lot of people, the whole team and everyone who has contributed to my career, including my trainer Anthony Peadon (former international cycling sprinter, Australian) for following me in training over the last few weeks. This year we are determined, we don't expect anything, we just try to do the best we can. Together with Ducati, Marlboro and everyone we can do really well and I hope that as the season progresses we will be able to become stronger.”
