MotoGP – Istanbul – Capirossi: "I'm back!"

After two races of suffering, Loris Capirossi finally managed to return to the top with the third place obtained today. Everything went well today, right from the start, which put him in fourth place behind his teammate. As the race continued he realized that following Stoner was beyond his possibilities, and he preferred to slow down a bit, throwing himself into the tussle for third place with Alex Barros. On the last lap, however, the podium risked eluding him, and so did the race: in fact he almost lost the front and the Brazilian passed him, but Capirex certainly didn't give up, and with a good braking move he passed Barros at the chicane. Yes, now that his championship can truly be said to have begun...

“The whole weekend was amazing for me, I can say I'm back!”, exclaims new father Loris Capirossi. “Twenty days ago I experienced the best moment of my life with the birth of my son, and now I've started having fun riding my motorbike again. I hope that my championship starts from this moment because we still have fifteen races ahead of us. Everything went well: the start was good, and then I tried to follow Casey but he was going very fast and I preferred to slow down a bit. I fought a lot especially with Alex on the last lap. I almost lost the front in the very fast corner, the bike broke down and he passed. I said to myself "ok" I only have one chance of making the podium, passing Alex when braking at the chicane. So it was. I want to sincerely thank my team, and everyone, for having faith in me after two difficult races.".
