After the last British GP on the Donington Park track which saw Randy De Puniet obtain a great third place behind Andrea Dovizioso and Colin Edwards, the MotoGP riders and teams take a two-week break before the GP of Czech Republic next August 16th. Despite the summer break, however, the rider of the LCR Honda MotoGP Team decided to continue his training program and last Saturday he went out to train on the cross bike in Aix en Provence where his personal trainer Yves Demaria (former rider of Motocross). Unfortunately the 28-year-old fell at the entrance to a bend, hitting his left leg heavily on the ground. Randy was taken to the hospital and X-rays immediately showed the fracture of his left ankle. The rider immediately underwent surgery to insert a screw in his ankle and left hospital today. In the next few days he will be visited by the Staff of the Mobile Clinic to be back on track in Brno.

“Yves and I have planned a specific training program to improve my performance on the track this year – declared De Puniet – This program has helped me a lot so far and, despite the summer break, I couldn't skip training for two weeks. So we decided to go out with the motocross bike to do some laps but unfortunately I fell at the entrance to a bend and the impact with the ground caused me to fracture my left ankle. I am very sorry for this inconvenience but training is essential to be prepared on the track. I will do my best to be on track in Brno and I am very confident in the help of the Clinica Mobile.”
