Alvaro Bautista achieved the seventh fastest time on the first day of testing for the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, the eleventh round of the 2012 world championship. After the difficult contact made in the morning due to the precarious conditions of the track, in the afternoon he found confidence and the right setting to tomorrow's qualifying. “Today we returned to the feeling we had before Mugello and Laguna. We worked by trying two different settings especially in the afternoon because in the morning the track conditions were not good. In the end I chose to work on the basic setting because it was the one that gave me the most confidence. I looked for the limit and the references, always working with hard tires and I have to say that I'm quite satisfied. Now we hope to continue with these positive feelings tomorrow too to be able to return to our potential positions.”
