MotoGP Indianapolis: Marquez also takes the Warm Up, Iannone is third
The world championship leader ahead of Aleix Espargarò, 7th time for Rossi and 10th for Dovizioso
Marc Marquez is leaving crumbs to his rivals and also made the Warm Up of the Indianapolis Grand Prix his own, which could give him his tenth consecutive victory, thus equaling the record of the legendary Giacomo Agostini.
The Honda rider tried both the hard and soft tyres, managing to go fast with both, even if yesterday the hard solution seemed the most plausible.
His time of 1:32.727 was more than three tenths better than that set by compatriot Aleix Espargarò, riding the Forward Racing Yamaha Open.
Andrea Iannone did well, third with the Ducati of Team Pramac. The next Ducati Factory rider is ahead of the Yamaha M1s of Jorge Lorenzo and Pol Espargarò and the Honda of Dani Pedrosa.
Valentino Rossi finished seventh, 0.522 behind Marquez. The Pesaro rider precedes Smith, Bradl and Dovizioso, who we remember will start from the front row in the race which will start at 20pm Italian time. Danilo Petrucci riding the Iodaracing ART finishes seventeenth.
