Dani Pedrosa he closed the Indy GP in 4th place, knocked off the podium by Valentino Rossi who overtook him on the last lap. The two had passed each other several times in the last laps, even if at halfway through the race Pedrosa had a good gap on the Pesaro rider. Then his times went up and Rossi caught him again. The two remained glued until the checkered flag, with the championship leader who mocked him in the final lap.

“It was a very physical race – said Dani Pedrosa – I had to fight a lot with the bike due to the lack of grip. The surprise then was Valentino. I knew my pace was slower than Marc and Jorge, but after practice I believed I could be closer to them. However, Valentino made a big step forward in the race as always, and so we fought for the podium. On the last lap he overtook me at the second corner and I couldn't pass him again. I am happy for Honda who achieved victory 700 today, it is an honor to have also contributed to reaching this milestone"
