Starting from the next round in Aragon the Ducati will be able to count on GP14.5, an evolution of the current bike halfway with that of 2015. The namesake of the same name tested it together with Andrea Dovizioso Iannone that next season it will actually be an official one.

“A few days before Spain I will do a test at Mugello to check if the direction of the update is the right one – explained the Pramac rider during the round table organized by Bridgestone – However, I don't think we should expect a radical change, let's just hope which allows us to be faster in qualifying and consistent in the race because to really make the leap forward we would need to review the entire vehicle as a whole. To date the biggest problem concerns grip, so during the first five/six laps we manage to keep up with the others, then the tire starts to slip and we lose acceleration and corner entry, not to mention that the front struggles to get up to temperature. It is good to admit, however, that since Gigi arrived from Igna there has been continuous progress, which is no small innovation considering the stagnation of 2013".

Speaking instead of the position he will acquire from the next championship he declared: “Already now I am working closely with the engineers and with Dovi. They treat us as equals and pay attention to my instructions so, in view of my move to the factory team, I can only be pleased to know that I count for something."

Then on the possibility of no longer being Open he continued: "Impossible as long as we have to experiment especially at engine level and although in truth the advantages of having this name only concern a few more liters of petrol (which we don't use) and tires that we only mount for testing."

Finally with a joke about Stoner, one of the few to tame the Panigale, and on Marquez he concluded: “Casey was able to enjoy ad hoc tires but when we entered the single supplier regime the benefits gradually disappeared and he changed teams. Marc was managed well and was lucky enough to always be in top teams. Given his talent and where he is, the fact that he is so strong is nothing unusual."
