MotoGP: Honda, Pedrosa chooses Gibernau as "coach" for the pre-season

Repsol Honda Pedrosa Gibernau – Sete Gibernau will return to the pitlane and at the beginning of 2017 he will join Dani Pedrosa as coach. For Valentino Rossi's former rival, this is a sensational return to the team where he spent six seasons between the 500cc class and MotoGP (from 1998 to 2005. ed.). The two compatriots also raced together in the Movistar Honda team before the now XNUMX-year-old from Barcelona chose to move to Ducati. Gibernau subsequently decided to hang up his helmet and end his career in the premier two-wheel category.

Here are the words of Sete Gibernau: “Like last year, I followed Dani during the season opening tests. I would like to give him a hand so that he can become even more confident; my experience can help him with everything concerning the organization of the garage; I am very happy to be able to be of service to him. Together we can clarify the areas of work that need attention by better transmitting the team's needs to Honda. The vision you can have from the outside is much more general than the one you have when you are in the saddle or in the box; I'm trying to give my contribution to improving the bike and, with Dani, trying to make some positive changes."

Here are Dani Pedrosa's impressions: “He has experience as a rider and for this reason it is easier to make him understand my sensations in the saddle. He can also better understand what is happening on the track and report it to the mechanics. I don't know if he can be with us all year round, but I hope he can give me his help for as long as possible."
