For Alex Hofmann, the Sachsenring was supposed to represent the race of his life. With the favor of playing at home, the German rider had to obtain an important performance, to make up for an at least insufficient season (with or without the pre-Estoril injury involved) and to offer the Kawasaki management elements for a possible reconfirmation in team in 2006. Unfortunately for him it didn't go that way, due to an unlikely braking at the first corner of his teammate Olivier Jacque (who should really take his place at the Eckl team...) resulting in a fall and a "fuck" in worldwide vision to French. At Donington and Sachsenring I showed that I was able to stay ahead of Shinya, unfortunately in Germany the accident at the first corner took away my chance of having an excellent race. I hope that the Kawasaki management does not stop having faith in me, which has served me a lot in these years of development of the ZX-RR..."
