Yamaha MotoGP – After a decent start to the season, in which Valentino Rossi established himself as the best Yamaha in the standings, taking two second places in Argentina and Austin, something went wrong when the MotoGP returned to Europe.

After the trips to America it seemed that both the Pesaro native and Yamaha had found something, a basis on which to evolve. The competition was distant, but less so than in recent years. Since Jerez, however, something went wrong, on the classic tracks where the 'Doctor' has almost always taken center stage, this year he has instead sunk into oblivion. Three consecutive zeros (Mugello, Barcellona and Assen) and obvious problems in qualifying with difficulty accessing Q2. If the lack of results is due to age or poor feeling with the bike this remains a big question mark, what is certain is that seeing Vinales win and the young rookie Quartararo only eight points behind must not be easy for morale .

Graziano Rossi, Valentino's father, took care of clarifying the situation a little. In an interview given to the Gazzetta dello Sport he talked about what his son is experiencing now and removed the clouds from a possible imminent retirement.

Graziano Rossi talks about the situation of his son Valentino

“The criticisms? They don't give a damn. Because as always he doesn't read anything that concerns him. He is in great physical shape and it's not just me who says this, everyone who is close to him also says it. He's not down in the dumps. Maybe he's worried, yes, because undoubtedly there have been some problems recently. But that doesn't mean he's demotivated, on the contrary. He never is. Usually when he's down for some reason he doesn't go slow anymore, it's the exact opposite. There was a moment when Vale and his team were left directionless. I am referring to the development of a motorbike which is already quite complicated in itself. It's no mystery: everyone knows that the Yamaha is the slowest of the bikes currently on the track, both in terms of top speed and acceleration. Therefore, setup is the key to trying to recover what is lost on the straight in mixed and guided racing. Well, this hasn't been successful for some time now. There was a mix-up in his team. But now everything is solved. It doesn't mean there will be changes in the group. I'm sure that already in Brno, on August 4th, Vale will be at 80% of himself and that from the following GP he will be able to start fighting for the podium again.

Graziano Rossi and the words of Lin Jarvis

Recently the Managing Director of Yamaha spoke about the future of the team and Valentino Rossi (here is the complete news), but Graziano Rossi's idea is different: “I share Vale's concerns a bit, but also his optimism. Above all, I would like to see him race forever."
