After Jerez, Misano Adriatico and Aragón, the Circuit Ricardo Tormo also hosts two consecutive GPs seven days apart. Even though this year is not the final race of the season, it could still be decisive for the title.

According to Brembo technicians who work closely with 100 percent of the MotoGP World Championship riders, the Circuit Ricardo Tormo falls into the category of circuits that are moderately demanding on the brakes. On a scale of 1 to 5 it earned a difficulty rating of 3, the lowest of the four Spanish slopes.

The commitment of the brakes during the MotoGP Valencian Community GP

Adding up all the forces exerted by a driver on the brake lever from the start to the checkered flag on average exceeds 9 and a half quintals. Only in Misano Adriatico, Le Mans and Jerez is this value higher, but on the Italian circuit there are 12 braking times per lap and 11 on the Andalusian one.

Another distinctive feature of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo is the presence of only one point where braking generates a speed loss of over 150 km/h. Even though there are 6 corners with entry speeds between 73 km/h and 99 km/h, for none of them the MotoGP bikes reach at least 240 km/h before applying the brakes.

Of the 9 braking sections at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, only one is classified as demanding on the brakes, 5 are of medium difficulty and the remaining 3 are not very demanding.

The longest braking point, in terms of time, for the MotoGP bikes is the one at turn 8: the prototypes go from 232 km/h to 89 km/h in 4,4 seconds (2 tenths more than in the first turn) in which they cover 180 meters . Riders only need a load of 3,9 kg on the brake lever while the deceleration is 1,3 g.
