MotoGP | GP Valencia Race: Takaaki Nakagami, “It was a great race”

MotoGP European GP Valencia LCR Honda Race – Fourth position for Takaaki Nakagami in the European Grand Prix, third to last round of this 2020 MotoGP world championship. The LCR standard bearer, after the excellent performance in qualifying, managed to maximize the result on his Honda, collecting important points for the customer championship. A different story however for Cal Crutchlow, who suffered a fall while he was in the top 10.

“It was a great result, a great race and we had a good pace until the end. You know that I never give up until the end, the last lap, the last corner: even today I really gave my all. I was really, really close to my first podium, but I got another fourth place and the title of best independent driver, so it was still a great result for us. I think we should be happy and I'm already looking forward to the next race here in Valencia. We have to keep pushing, keep believing; believe in my team and myself because we have another opportunity for a great result. I want to thank my team because we were competitive all weekend, and now let's think about the next one."

“I am very disappointed with today's result, crashing after five laps is not what we imagined or intended. Coming from a bad qualifying position and a bad start, it was difficult to make progress to catch those in front. Unfortunately I went wide off the line under braking at Turn 8 and went wide on the dirty part of the track at which point I no longer controlled the front. It's only my fault and I hope that next weekend will be different for me and for the whole team who are doing an excellent job."
