Team LCR Honda IDEMITSU rookie Takaaki Nakgami ends the 2018 MotoGP season in style, crossing the finish line of the Valencia GP as the best rider of an Independent Team.

The race was divided into two due to heavy rain: the first part, characterized by numerous crashes, lasted 13 laps before the red flag was displayed. There was then a second start and the last 14 laps were completed, during which Taka demonstrated great character in very difficult driving conditions.

The Japanese finally finished 6th, obtaining the role of Best Independent Rider and his best placing in MotoGP.

#Here are the words of Takaaki Nakagami: “It was very hard, I was scared on every lap, every corner… but it's a fantastic feeling! I didn't think I could be the best Independent Pilot. Last night Cal texted me, telling me to focus, not make any mistakes and to give it everything I could since I had nothing to lose. It was nice, I thank him and the whole team, it's an unforgettable day! On Tuesday we will start with the official tests, I can't wait to get to work for the next season... but tonight it's a party!"
