MotoGP | GP Valencia Day 1: Marquez, “We are fast and I felt the limit”

MotoGP GP Valencian Community GP Honda Repsol Day 1 – Marc Marquez was the fastest on the first day of testing for the GP of the Valencian Community, the nineteenth and final stage of the 2018 MotoGP which will take place on Sunday on the Ricardo Tormo circuit.

The Honda champion achieved the best lap in the first session, his time was 1'39.767, which in the combined classification allowed him to beat the Ducatis of Jack Miller, Danilo Petrucci and Andrea Dovizioso. Both sessions took place on a wet track, so he had the say.

“Honestly, it was a difficult day because not only were there wet conditions with a lot of water, but also because it was very cold. When there is so much water on the track, it's a kind of lottery, and the only thing you can do is try not to fall – said Marc Marquez – This situation has made things more complicated, but fortunately the track here at Valencia has very good drainage and grip and this allowed us to lap. Having said that, I felt very good on the bike and I was able to feel the limit and be fast, which is very important. It looks like the weather will be better tomorrow and it will get worse again on Sunday, so we need to be ready for any conditions if we want to fight for the podium.”
