Initially there were fears for the #93's health, but fortunately after an initial analysis at the medical center and further analysis at the Buriram hospital, fractures were ruled out and the world championship leader was able to return to the track regularly in the second free practice session.

The dynamics of the accident need to be understood. Initially it was thought to be a fault, it is in fact "rare" to see MotoGP riders make similar falls, but first the words of the Honda Team Manager, Alberto Puig, and then the analysis of Mauro Sanchini ruled out this hypothesis. The most probable cause, in fact, seems to be that of a cold and dirty tyre. When returning to the track, the Spaniard would have passed through a point with a lot of dust and this, added to the still cold tyre, would have triggered the fall.
