GP Thailand Aprilia MotoGP 2022 – Colorless performance for Aleix Espargarò in the last Thai Grand Prix, 17th round of the 2022 MotoGP world championship.

The Aprilia Spaniard, starting from the back, managed to climb up to tenth place in the first half of the race, only to then slip back again due to a long-lap penalty awarded by the Race Director for a bad fairing to Brad Binder .

From there he started a new comeback which led him to take the checkered flag in 11th place. In the standings, Espargarò remains in the running thanks to Fabio Quartararo's catastrophic Sunday (there is now a gap of 20 points between the two).

“Today I was competitive, I had a good pace and I managed to recover many positions. Then there was the contact with Brad which, personally, I consider to be a normal race situation given that on the straight I was already alongside and on the inside. This cost me an eternal long-lap, I then continued to push but we couldn't do better than eleventh. But we leave Thailand with several positive points: first of all, I return home, to my family, and I will be able to better prepare for the next races on two circuits where we will have fun. Then we recovered points from Fabio who, as leader of the standings, remains the man to beat."
