MotoGP | Styrian GP Qualifying, Vinales: “I expected more”
The Spaniard added: "The bike is at a good level"
MotoGP GP Styria Red Bull Ring Spielberg 2021 – Ninth time for Maverick Vinales in qualifying for the Styrian Grand Prix. Today's news (even if it's not official, ed.) is that the Spaniard has signed a one-year contract with Aprilia. The Monster Energy Yamaha team rider did not want to add details on the issue.
Statements by Maverick Vinales, Styria GP qualification
“I expected a lot more from today's qualifying because the feeling this morning was really good. I managed to do 1'23.7 at the race pace which is fast. I was very happy at that moment. For sure I'm a bit frustrated because, if it hadn't been pole, I thought I'd be on the front row. I think this was a realistic possibility but it didn't happen that way. We have to accept it and tomorrow we have to start well and push. But even more than the first lap, having the ability to overtake is fundamental. If I can do that, I think we'll move forward, because the bike is at a good level.".
