MotoGP United States GP Movitar Yamaha Day 1 – Valentino Rossi achieved the fourth fastest time on the first day of free practice for the Grand Prix of the Americas, third stage of the 2018 MotoGP World Championship.

The Yamaha rider from Pesaro showed a fast and solid pace since FP1 and confirmed the good sensations in the afternoon too. The #46 worked together with the team to set up the tires and electronics, saying he was satisfied. He has the microphone.

“The first session was quite positive because I was fast from the start, even though the track wasn't in good condition. Now we have to work on the balance of the bike, on the tyres, to understand what the best options are for the race. We also need to work on the electronics, to improve acceleration out of corners.”

“The second session was also positive, I classified fourth and was quite fast. We worked on the race pace because with the medium tires there is a little less grip, so we still have some work to do, but the feeling is positive – said Valentino Rossi – The track is a little better than this morning . We'll see what the weather will be like tomorrow, even if the forecast says it will rain. We are working hard, in Argentina we took the wrong path, here we have changed direction and it seems to be going better. Marquez didn't do a real time attack, then both Vinales and I are going strong, as are Crutchlow and Iannone."
