MotoGP GP United States Alma Ducati Pramac Day 1 – First day of free practice on the Texan circuit of Austin was difficult for Danilo Petrucci, who finished in eleventh position in the combined time classification.

FP1, heavily influenced by the dirty track, was an ordeal for the driver from Terni. Despite several attempts, the low grip and the bumps did not allow him to go beyond 13th position. In the American afternoon, “Petrux” managed to improve, but not enough to reach the top ten. Rain is forecast for tomorrow, so the #09 risks having to go through Q1.

These are the words of Danilo Petrucci: “I did 2 fairly fast laps in FP2, a little over the limit, but I was outside the top ten for a tenth. We are far away, the bike suffers in the potholes. They told us they had leveled them but there are more. We struggle to absorb and insert the bike into corners. It's supposed to rain tomorrow but I'm out of ten. Not even this luck. We will try to do well tomorrow, we didn't expect to struggle so much. I'm 2 tenths behind Dovi and Lorenzo, but they're in the top 10 and this is important."
