MotoGP GP United States Press Conference – Jack Miller was present at the usual press conference preceding the American Grand Prix.

The Australian driver, in Argentina, after starting from pole (achieved heroically with slick tires on a damp track) finished in fourth place. During the press conference, Miller demonstrated incredible maturity by commenting on what happened in the last GP, in particular the events between Marquez and Rossi.

When asked if he thinks the race direction should have handled the situation differently, the Ducati Pramac team rider replied: “We need to better control the fights on the track, we are here to compete, but the fight must be done on the track, not in the newspapers. It is not nice to manipulate reality by some journalists, and in the same way some drivers must be careful in making certain statements. A strange situation is developing with many people taking different positions. We drivers have to watch what we say. Words can be distorted, as we have often seen. I believe that every race accident should remain on the track and not be covered in the media, it makes no sense. There will always be contacts, but what happens during the race remains on the track. I want to remember the situation that occurred between Simoncelli and Pedrosa. Life is short, and we risk our lives every day on the track, it makes no sense to take the position of one or another to fuel tension". Once the statement was over, an unusual round of applause rose in the Texan press room for the Australian driver.

Miller then commented on his last race: “I was a bit frustrated after the race in Argentina, I had a lot of pressure on my shoulders, especially after that anomalous start, I wouldn't have been able to manage a situation like that until a few years ago. I was alone on the grid for 30 minutes. Overall, it was a positive weekend, because I had again the good feelings I had in the tests in Thailand. In Argentina my pace was good both in the wet and in the dry. The race was nerve-wracking for me. I had a good lead but I was trying to stay calm. But in the last corner I caught a puddle, which cost me the fight for the podium. I kicked myself in the butt for this. But I learned a lot. This year there are many strong riders on fast bikes. I also have a very competitive bike. We can't doubt anyone this year. Satellite team drivers can even win races.”
