The 2018 MotoGP is preparing to face the shortest track on the calendar for the ninth round of the season. In fact, the 3.671 meters of the Sachsenring in Germany will host the next stage of the premier class, the last before the short summer break. A decidedly particular circuit: with only 3 right-hand corners and 10 left-hand ones, the German track requires a great effort from technicians and drivers to find the ideal setup.

Last year the Aprilia Racing Team Gresini was among the protagonists in Germany, with Aleix Espargaró finishing the race in seventh place after having consistently placed in the top 5 in the timed sessions and having hit the third row at the start. Scott Redding has just returned from two races in growth, the progress was more evident in the last race in Assen, a trend that the English rider wants to confirm in Saxony.

Here are Aleix Espargarò's impressions: “In the last race before the summer break my goal is to bring home a good result. In Assen we were competitive all weekend, the only session we missed was the race. The Sachsenring is not my favorite circuit in terms of layout but I have always been quite strong there, even last year I finished seventh with an excellent pace."

Here are Scott Redding's words: “The Sachsenring has a lot of long corners to take without brakes, not our strong point, but it is also a tight and twisty track which could help us. I come from two positive races, in which I enjoyed riding. With the Aprilia, every track is new for me and so I don't know what to expect but in terms of mentality I want to tackle each session without too many complications, thinking only of doing the best possible."
