MotoGP GP Germany Press Conference – Andrea Dovizioso, fourth at the Dutch GP, was also present at the press conference for the German Grand Prix.

The conference began with the news of the day, Dani Pedrosa's retirement at the end of the season.

“For us, Dani has always been a rider who fought in all conditions. I arrived a few years after him in MotoGP. Dani was my teammate, he was faster than me for a while and I learned a lot from him, he was always a reference and a role model. It's nice to see how he worked out the choice. If he is happy with what he does, we are happy too. I think he drives fantastic. Already in 250 you could see his style which he managed to maintain in MotoGP. I tried to learn as much as possible from him. In the 250 and 125 he prepared the training sessions in the best possible way and for me it was fundamental to have such a competitive person in front of me. Thanks to him I improved and improved how to manage the race weekend.”

Talking about the next race

“This season is different from last year and I think the situation is better. I think the bike will be better but I made many mistakes which are negative for the championship. Before Assen I felt confident. This is not the best circuit for us but we will do our best. So we continue to work and try to manage the tires better. We don't have the ideal set-up, so we will work on that."

Sachsenring a difficult track for Ducati

“We are very strong in acceleration and on this track you don't need much, in my opinion we will be more competitive. The choice of tires is not a problem for us but it is an aspect that needs improvement. The tires are different to last year, so we have to learn to manage them like we did last year.”
