MotoGP KTM Factory Qatar GP – Seventeenth and twenty-second positions for Pol Espargarò and Johann Zarco in qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix, the inaugural event of the 2019 MotoGP world championship. Despite the Spaniard's excellent performance during FP3, in fact, KTM was unable to overcome the obstacle of Q1 , struggling quite a bit in terms of grip with the RC16.

An extremely difficult situation which does not bode well for tomorrow, given that the riders will not have the opportunity to carry out further tests before the race (the warm-up will start in daylight conditions. Ed.).

Here are Pol Espargarò's assessments: “Difficult conditions today, but we managed to get back to our rhythm. This morning went well, as we managed to finish free practice in third place, and I think if we hadn't had that problem yesterday, we probably could have finished higher. I know that our race pace is better than that on the flying lap, which is why I'm looking forward to tomorrow."

Here are Johann Zarco's impressions: “I have to cross my fingers and hope that we will have better temperatures tomorrow. Otherwise it will be quite difficult for me and I will have to be careful. At the moment I don't have a solution and so I just need to clear my head so I can focus on the race. Normally we try to stay calm so as not to overheat the tires, but at the moment the situation is completely the opposite and it's a weak point."
