MotoGP | GP Qatar Qualifying: Vinales takes pole, Dovizioso and Marquez on the front row

MotoGP GP Qatar Qualifying – The pole position of the MotoGP class Qatar Grand Prix went to Maverick Vinales, who thus achieved his first pole of the season.

The Spanish Yamaha centaur set the best lap with a time of 1:53.546, a time that allowed him to beat our Andrea Dovizioso on the Ducati by 0.198s and the Honda of reigning champion Marc Marquez by 0.199s.

Second row for Jack Miller's Ducati, for rookie Fabio Quartararo's Yamaha and for Cal Crutchlow's Team LCR Honda.

Seventh time and third row for Danilo Petrucci, unnerved by the behavior of Marc Marquez, who followed him and exploited his slipstream from the first outing. Petrucci preceded the Yamaha M1 of Franco Morbidelli's Team Petronas and the Honda of Japanese Takaaki Nakagami's Team LCR.

Fourth row for the Suzukis of Alex Rins and Joan Mir and for the Aprilia of Aleix Espargarò.

Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo will start from the back, having failed to pass the Q1 trap. For the Yamaha rider from Pesaro the problem comes from the tyres, while the Majorcan suffered a crash (the second of the day) which did not allow him to battle until the end of Q1.
