MotoGP GP Portugal Repsol Honda – Joan Mir finished the Portuguese Grand Prix, second stage of the 2024 MotoGP, in 12th position.

Despite a difficult start due to contact with Morbidelli on the first lap, Mir showed resilience and determination to manage the damage to his bike and remain competitive until the end. However, the Spanish driver recognized the importance of improving qualifying to avoid similar incidents in the future. Mir praised the work carried out by his team and Honda Racing Corporation over the weekend, highlighting a notable improvement compared to free practice.

“Our race went quite well in the end after we took a big risk with the setup. It's still a new bike and we're learning things with every outing. In the morning we weren't able to make the step forward we needed and therefore we suffered in qualifying. In the race my pace was close to that of the top ten but starting so far back limits you. We must be happy with the step forward made in the race because we managed to improve our race pace by a second."
