MotoGP | Mugello GP: Fabio Quartararo, "Not a great result, but I'm the best rookie"
Quartararo added: "I can't wait to race a MotoGP in Barcelona"
MotoGP Italian GP Petronas Yamaha Race – Fabio Quartararo, after shining in practice on the front row, finished the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello in tenth position.
The rookie of the Yamaha Petronas SRT Team, after a good start, saw his M1 rear up and enter a collision course with that of team-mate Franco Morbidelli. Contact avoided, but several positions lost.
Quartararo then suffered from the increase in pressure in the front tyres, an inconvenience that did not allow him to push as he wanted. It's still another Top Ten and for a rookie a very respectable result. The word is up to him.
“I struggled from the start. My start wasn't bad, but the bike wheelied a bit and this made me lose several positions. As the race progressed, the front tire pressure increased a lot and unfortunately I wasn't able to find a good feeling with the front – said Fabio Quartararo – Our pace over the weekend was good, but we weren't able to achieve a great result. The goal is to be the best rookie and today we achieved it. I don't want to rush and I want to go step by step. Now we're going to Barcelona, one of my favorite circuits and I can't wait to race a MotoGP.”
