MotoGP Gp San Marino and Rimini Riviera – With Tito Rabat out of action following the injury suffered in free practice at the Silverstone GP, the Avintia Ducati team had to take action and find a replacement.

On the occasion of the thirteenth stage of the 2018 MotoGP, the Ducati satellite team had to resort to an emergency solution. Technically, the Spaniard's teammate will replace him, in fact, Xavier Simon will be entrusted with the Rabat GP17 until he manages to get back on track. Christophe Ponsson will ride the Belgian rider's bike, the GP16.

Born in 1995 and with a French passport, Ponsson played a season in the SBK world championship in 2015 while he currently competes in the FIM CEV Superbike championship. The replacement should only be for Misano.

These are the words of Christophe Ponsson: “I'm super happy and excited. I really want to get on a motorbike. Racing in MotoGP is every rider's dream and I still can't believe that on Friday I will be on the track with the riders I see from home every weekend. I always try to learn from them on TV and now I can do it on the track! I am happy! I am 22 years old and this opportunity is something incredible. I know it will be difficult and I will have to learn many things in a very short time, the bike, the carbon brakes, the Michelin tyres, but I am willing to learn and learn. I will try to give my best on the bike and I hope to reward the team and everyone who helped me realize my dream."
