MotoGP GP San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Yamaha MotoGP QP – Maverick Vinales took pole at the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Grand Prix, thirteenth stage of the 2019 MotoGP.

It was already clear from Friday's free practice that one of the contenders for pole was #12, but the Spaniard only managed to climb the rankings under the checkered flag. The race will be tough, but "TopGun" has all it takes to aim for full points.

“I'm really happy and excited, because we created a really good atmosphere and a really good weekend so far. Of course, everything depends on Sunday, but we are enjoying the moment, because it is always difficult to be in P1 on Saturday. We worked well for the race, the pace is good, we have a great pace in the last laps. We are going to do our best! I'm excited and happy with how the work is going, the team is putting in a great effort. During the test we worked really hard on the slippery conditions and that's why we are on pole. Honestly, from day one here all the Yamahas worked well, but somehow we created better grip than the others. There are also other drivers who are quite close, so we will see in the end. My goal is to take the lead into the first corner and then push to my maximum. I will definitely go for the win. This is a good track for me, I have nothing to lose and everything to win. Any result will be good, but we have to feel how we fight for victory.”
