MotoGP | Misano GP Qualifying: Rossi, “Lorenzo favourite, we are two tenths short”

MotoGP GP San Marino and Rimini Riviera Movistar Yamaha Qualifying – Valentino Rossi achieved the seventh time in qualifying for the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Grand Prix, the thirteenth stage of the 2018 MotoGP, which will take place tomorrow at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli over a distance of 27 laps.

The Yamaha champion will therefore start from the third row, but the gaps are very small. The gap from pole-man Jorge Lorenzo is 0.399s and second place, which went to Jack Miller, is just over a tenth.

There are a lot of strong braking areas here, it's not easy to pass, but you can do it. It was important to improve braking because it will be important for the race. It will be important to start strong and stay as far ahead as possible after the first three corners.”

AREAS TO IMPROVE

“T2 is the sector where I suffer the most, but in qualifying I made a mistake in T4. Despite the rain, the track seemed better than yesterday, it has more rubber and today I felt better. Tomorrow will be difficult physically too, because it will be hot, it's a track that doesn't give you time to catch your breath."

“In my opinion, the Ducatis are the ones that are going the best, but Vinales and Marquez are also there. Perhaps the favorite is Lorenzo, who will perhaps try to leave. To fight for the podium I'm two tenths away, let's see if we can recover with the electronics or the driving. Usually on Saturday evening important work is done because you have more data and it is easier to improve the bike, but it's not a given that we will succeed, but I hope so."
