MotoGP GP Malaysia Sepang LCR Race – Johann Zarco closed the Malaysian Grand Prix, the penultimate stage of the 2019 MotoGP, crashing with 4 laps to go due to contact with Joan Mir.

The LCR team rider, who started from ninth position, was fighting for the top 7 throughout the race. At the end, the Suzuki rider hit him in a risky overtaking attempt, putting an end to a very positive race up to that point.

“I was trying to overtake Jack and Mir's bike crossed me and got in front. He didn't think I wanted to overtake Jack, if I could I would have finished eighth. I'm happy because I'm growing and starting to recover the sensations of a top rider. I didn't control the pace, because we were going to the limit, but I saw Fabio Quartararo and this gave me motivation. When I adapt more to this Honda, I will definitely take another step forward and, who knows, maybe in Valencia I will be able to fight for the top 7 or top 5. The idea is to move to Q2 again and continue to learn from this motion so that things are automatic. Here I wouldn't have finished more than 15 seconds behind the winner, so I'm feeling like a top rider again."
