MotoGP GP France Le Mans Aprilia Gresini – Best seasonal qualifying for Lorenzo Savadori on the Le Mans track, scene of the next French MotoGP Grand Prix. The Aprilia Italian, taking advantage of the damp track conditions, managed to extract the maximum potential from his 2021 RS-GP, an aspect that allowed him to qualify within the top ten. Things went worse for Aleix Espargarò, the protagonist of several crashes between FP3 and FP4. The Spaniard, in qualifying, failed to make the cut for Q1.

“It's a shame about qualifying, unfortunately I made the mistake of not returning to the pits to put on the medium wet tyres. The soft ones, with the track drying out, got too hot and the bike moved a lot, especially on the front. I tried to do a slow lap to let them cool down but it wasn't enough. The position certainly doesn't reflect the feeling I had. If tomorrow is dry I think we can be fast, despite having few references. With a possible wet track, things will be less predictable but I take comfort in the fact that the 2021 RS-GP works well in all conditions."

“I am extremely happy with this qualification, especially because it is a credit to Aprilia's great work and the trust that this team has always placed in me. In these conditions, with the bike moving a lot, I can find a good feeling because the sensations are close to those I'm used to coming from the series derivative categories. On the other hand, in the dry, where precision and stability are required, I still lack the experience to ride as I would like. Looking ahead to tomorrow, we must above all be ready and reactive to the variability of the weather: managing the race well will be fundamental."
