MotoGP French GP Repsol Honda MotoGP – Marc Marquez won the French Grand Prix in the MotoGP class, fifth stage of the 2019 MotoGP championship.

The Honda rider thus achieves his third success of the season, number 47 in MotoGP, number 73 in his career, number 300 for Honda in the premier class.

This victory allows him to move up in the standings, +8 on Dovizioso, +20 on Rins and +23 on Rossi. Here's what Honda's #93 had to say.

“Le Mans is always difficult, especially due to the temperatures. It's my first race with two soft tyres. I tried to be consistent, then when I saw that I had a bit of an advantage I pushed. Once I took the gap I went back to managing. On this track where Ducati was strong it was important to win - Marquez then continued - I waited the first 2 laps, I didn't know how the rear tire was working. I saw that I was okay and I did a strong lap. I saw that Miller had passed me, but he was going slower. I wanted to do like Jerez, take my pace without overdoing it. I pushed 3 or 4 laps and then drove clean. This weekend we worked a little harder, we fought to find a feeling. In the warm up we made a small change and it worked.”

Marquez then commented on his brother Alex's victory in Moto2: “Today I am happier for my brother's victory. He needed it, he deserved it, he had been trying for a year and a half but something always happened. Alex in MotoGP? I would like it, if he wins and gets podiums yes, otherwise no. He doesn't need to be my brother, everyone has his name, he has to do like today every weekend."
