MotoGP GP Spain Ducati MotoGP Race – It was a conflicted Andrea Dovizioso who spoke at the end of the Spanish Grand Prix, the fourth race of the 2019 MotoGP, the first in Europe.

The Jerez track has always been difficult for both "Desmodovi" and the Ducati and the fourth final position is therefore not to be "thrown away", but the #04 would have wanted the podium.

Having arrived in Jerez at the top of the world championship standings, he is now third, 3 points behind leader and race winner Marc Marquez, with him having the say.

“We pushed hard until the end. I wanted the podium. That was our goal and we didn't make it, it's a shame. I lost too many positions at the start and struggled to recover. I took a lot of risks. We're not bad in terms of speed and gap considering we're in Jerez but I expected more. This is what we managed to do – said Andrea Dovizioso – We are strong in acceleration, this is a track where you have to be smooth and we struggle. We are improving, we are faster and closer but it is not enough. We have to keep working. At the moment, looking at the championship, fourth place is too tight for us. The weekend was going well, but the race tells you the reality. We are not far away, but there are limits that need to be ironed out, so good but not great. I couldn't get close enough to Vinales to pass him, he was good."

MOTOGP LEVEL 2019

“In my opinion this year the level has risen. For example, Rins is better, the Yamahas are sometimes there and sometimes not, so you have to be careful when evaluating this race. We will have to calmly evaluate all the data. We are in good shape for the championship, but we need to improve for the next tracks. The championship is still long, the difference is the feeling with the bike. We are quite happy because we were fast, but not enough. I'm happy with Petrucci's result, he had a great race. From the next one I think he will do even better."

Maybe it may seem like a negative race but Dovi after Marquez is the greatest at the moment, he achieved the maximum and always the first of the Ducatis, perhaps if he had put pressure on Maverick a few laps earlier he would have been able to pass him but in fact it also seemed to me me at the limit, a fall would be a disaster, only Marquez can afford it....
