Bagnaia tries until the end but is second, bad fall for Bezzecchi
MotoGP GP Japan Qualifying – Jorge Martin wins the pole of the MotoGP class Japanese Grand Prix, the 14th round of the 2023 MotoGP championship scheduled at the Mobility Resort Motegi.
The Pramac team rider with a stratospheric time of 1:43.198 demolished the previous circuit record, preceding by 0.171s a stoic Francesco Bagnaia who tried everything until the checkered flag to threaten pole. Third time for Jack Miller who finished 0.353s behind the top.
Marco Bezzecchi, after a scary accident at the beginning of the session, fortunately without consequences, manages to get back on track with the second bike and finishes with the fourth fastest time ahead of Brad Binder's KTM and an excellent Fabio of Giannantonio.
Marc Marquez, after overcoming the Q1 trap, finished with the seventh fastest time ahead of the Aprilia duo of Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargarò. Johann Zarco Completes the top ten.
Among the others, Fabio Quartararo, who will start from 1th place, and Franco Morbidelli, who will start from 14st, did not pass the Q21 trap. Ducati test rider Michele Pirro, on the track to replace the injured Enea Bastianini, will start from the back.
