MotoGP GP Japan Motegi Free Practice 1 – Maverick Vinales wins the first free practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix, sixteenth stage of the 2019 MotoGP world championship.

The Monster Energy Yamaha team rider stopped the clock at a time of 1:45.572, ahead of his brand mates Fabio Quartararo, by 258 thousandths and Franco Morbidelli, by 411 thousandths.

Fourth time for the new world champion Marc Marquez who precedes the two Suzuki standard bearers, Alex Rins and Joan Mir.

Jack Miller is the best Ducati on the track and finishes seventh ahead of his brand mate Andrea Dovizioso and Pol Espargarò's KTM. Cal Crutchlow completes the top ten.

Valentino Rossi was out of the ten, finishing twelfth, but without having mounted new tires at the end. Similar situation also for Danilo Petrucci (Ducati) who finished 13th ahead of Andrea Iannone (Aprilia).
