GP Japan LCR Honda MotoGP 2022 – 12th time for Taakaki Nakagami in the first free practice session valid for the Japanese Grand Prix, 16th round of the 2022 MotoGP world championship. Despite a still battered hand, the Japanese managed to extract the best from his Honda, obtaining a time of 1'44"886, less than a tenth slower than the 10th placed, Maverick Vinales. An overall positive situation which at the moment does not jeopardize possible direct access to Q2 (weather permitting, obviously). 20th time for Alex Marquez.

“It was a difficult session, but my potential is good. We managed to get into the top 10, then in the end we lost a few positions and finished in 12th position, but only three tenths from the top. The performance was incredible, really good, and to be honest I didn't expect this speed. Sure, I felt a little uncomfortable with my fingers, but all my fans gave me a lot of energy during the session, which was good. Now I will try to rest as much as possible for the second day."
