MotoGP | Barcelona GP Qualifying: Rossi, “Michelin made the wrong tire choice”

MotoGP Gp Catalunya Yamaha Movistar QP – Valentino Rossi will start from the third row (seventh time) in the Catalunya Grand Prix, seventh stage of the 2018 MotoGP.

The Yamaha champion from Pesaro made some mistakes during the "good" lap and will be called upon to make a great start tomorrow. However, his race pace does not seem to project him into the fight for victory and the Pesaro native is also aware of this.

QUALIFICATIONS STORY

“I'm not very happy, because I could have started on the second row. I was 2 tenths down on the good lap. Unfortunately I took the wrong turn and cut off 10 meters later, it was a real shame. I tried again, but the tire was slipping and it wasn't enough.”

THIRD ROW START

“I'm starting on the third row, the pace isn't bad, but the Ducatis and Marquez are fast, so it will be tough to fight for the podium but we'll try.”

WRONG MICHELIN TIRE CHOICE

“In my opinion the problem was the choice of tires and it could have been avoided, given that we did the tests here. At the time I told Michelin that the tires weren't working well and they should have brought a tire between medium and soft, they didn't bring it and so we're all in a bit of difficulty. I honestly don't know who chooses the tires and why. It's true that Michelin is working well because they have improved, but in the last two races they made the wrong choice of front tires.”

RACE PACE

“There is a lot of leveling between the riders and this is nice, I don't know if it's good or bad, it depends on how I go. It will be difficult for the race because we all have a similar pace."

“RESCUE” MARC MARQUEZ

“I saw what Marquez did and it's a mix between the bike and him. He has a very exposed driving position. Honda has the prerogative that when the front closes it doesn't touch the fairing, but the tires remain in contact with the asphalt, so he slowly manages to get in between with his body and save the fall, but it's not that easy. ”
