MotoGP Gp Catalunya Press Conference – Danilo Petrucci spoke during the press conference preceding the Catalunya Grand Prix, seventh stage of the 2019 MotoGP.

The Ducati rider from Terni, fresh from his first career success (race won at Mugello, ed.), will also try to do well at Montmelò.

The one in Mugello was the eighth podium in MotoGP (all achieved with Ducati) for "Petrux" who is now fourth in terms of number of podiums obtained with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer in the premier class behind Casey Stoner (42), Andrea Dovizioso (32) and Loris Capirossi (23).

“The party after the victory at Mugello wasn't that crazy, in the end the luck was that I had to sleep at mum's! (laughs, ed.). Jokes aside, it was very nice to win at Mugello after having run an excellent race. I wasn't 100% and that made the victory more special. I hope that Mugello is the first of many good races, we always want to fight for the podium, even if it will be more difficult here. We are 4 to 7 riders going fast and being able to fight for the victory.”

HELP ANDREA DOVIZIOSO

“As always the media only took the second part of my thoughts. Andrea helped me and is helping me a lot from a mental point of view, we want to raise the level by stimulating each other, mutual help. There are no team orders and if I have the opportunity to win I will try to take it, but maybe I can give Andrea a better version of me. This was the meaning of being able to help Andrea.”

CONFIDENCE AFTER FIRST MOTOGP VICTORY

“Just this morning I was thinking that Mugello was only a weekend ago (lapsus, since it was June 2nd, ed.), but for me it feels like a month and a half has passed. In the back of my mind I now know that I can win and that I can fight for the podium at every race and that is our goal. I'm very curious if this will affect me or others.”

IDEAL PILOT TO FIGHT WITH

“I say Libero Liberati, 1957 world champion in the MotoGP, my fellow citizen and local hero. It would have been nice to deal with him.”
