After a decent start, the Ducati rider from Terni was fighting for fourth position with his teammate throughout the race. “It was a rather anomalous round, because we started strong and in free practice I was always in the top positions, finding great confidence on my Desmosedici GP. Then the increase in temperatures complicated the situation, because when the grip drops we are in more difficulty than our rivals, and today we struggled to keep up with the leaders. In the second half of the race we had a good fight with Andrea and other riders but unfortunately I lost a position right at the last corner. The positive side is that I climbed to third place in the world rankings and now we're going to the Sachsenring: I came close to the podium there last year and this time I'm aiming to get there."
