MotoGP | GP Assen Day 1: A.Espargarò, “Positive sensations”

After the first two rounds of testing in Assen, in view of Sunday's GP, Aleix Espargaró (13th in 1'34.318 but only half a second from the top-5) regains confidence with his RS-GP. It is a clear improvement compared to the last race in Barcelona which, given the very "short" ranking, makes him confident for tomorrow when the rounds will be decisive for defining the starting grid. Scott Redding closed the two sessions in 22nd position in 1'34.979, improving by almost a second between the first and second sessions.

Here are Aleix Espargarò's impressions “Today I found positive sensations on my Aprilia, much better than in Barcelona, ​​it's true that we're not high in the provisional ranking but we're not too far away. I did many laps keeping a good pace. I believe that tomorrow we will have every opportunity to improve further and, with a good lap, aim for direct access to Q2".

Here are the words of Scott Redding: “This morning I struggled a bit with regards to stability and tire combination, the RS-GP was moving a lot. In the afternoon we managed to improve, I felt good on the saddle and I enjoyed riding. In the last outing, a problem with the transponder prevented the electronic settings from working properly, so it was not possible to set a better time. We have to work to make the bike less nervous, the movements make riding tiring and make you lose precision."
