MotoGP | Argentina GP Qualifying: Miller surprise, he takes pole
The Australian rider beat Dani Pedrosa and Johann Zarco, Rossi on the fourth row
MotoGP GP Argentina Qualifying – The pole position of the MotoGP class Argentine Grand Prix, second stage of the 2018 MotoGP, scheduled for tomorrow at 20 pm Italian time, went to Jack Miller, Australian rider of the Pramac Ducati Team.
The #43 risked the double slicks when the asphalt was still damp in some parts, going on to achieve the first pole position in MotoGP (an Australian hadn't started from pole since Phillip Island 2012, then Casey Stoner got it). Miller, who lapped in 1:47.153, preceded Dani Pedrosa's Honda and Johann Zarco's Yamaha.
Tito Rabat will open the second row with the first Ducati, where he will be joined by the Suzuki of Alex Rins and the Honda of reigning champion Marc Marquez.
Andrea Dovizioso limited the damage by setting the eighth fastest time, third row. With him Aleix Espargarò and Maverick Vinales.
Qualifying to forget for Valentino Rossi, who achieved the eleventh time, fourth row. The Yamaha rider will be joined by Cal Cruthlow (tenth) and Andrea Iannone (twelfth).
